John Stones transfer saga

I'd prefer to keep Stones, but it looks remote - regardless of the noises from EFC (which are merely designed to get more cash as we all know). If keeping Stones means we go with what we have though (which it will) I'd sell him in a shot at £30M.
Coming to the same conclusion. We need more of an attacking threat and I just don't think a non-stellar workmanlike defender is going to derail Bobby's system. Get it to McCarthy and away we go. And when Stones played right-back, his limits as a player were shown. I know he's cultured but he's slow and he can't beat a man. Personally, think we should hold at for mid-thirties, sell, and try to get 2-3 players in.

How much did we spend in total last summer ? Lukaku was already playing for us, albeit on loan. So like i said, we spent the money to just move sideways, stay as is. We never spent the 28m to improve on our standing the previous season.
Ok so you weren't happy when we signed him as we were only moving sideways?

Don't change the conversation to suit your needs. We were on about money being spent as i mentioned that we only spend money to replace what we have let go, rather than spending money to push us on, in an attempt to better our teams standing. You questioned that we spent 28m to improve our team but the 28m didn't improve us though did it, as Lukaku was already playing for Everton the previous season.

I'd rather stick with the squad we've got and not spend another penny this window than bend over and accept £30 million.

It would cost upwards of £20 million to get an adequate replacement for Stones and we all know we wouldn't see anywhere near that amount invested back into the squad.

£50 million or wait for Barcelona and Madrid in two or three years.

As much as I detest the board I don't believe we are skint for one minute, if we were we wouldn't have bid for Ogbonna hence his comments thanking us in negotiations on his twitter statement. Only person to point the finger at for our lack of signings is the manager Dithering, nobody else.

Last summer was amazing that we spent £28m on a player, if we didn't spend that we would have lost him. It's irrelevant that he was on loan the year before as he wasn't ours and there is only so much money to go around.
Just my oppinion

You heard the saying third time lucky?

No that's it now....mourinho said all we had to do was say Stones is not for sale, and he'd not mention him again....so its all over....i believe mourinho.....and I believe the media will let this lie now......all over......done and dusted......game over.....definitely the last we'll hear of this.....end of the road......closure at last....
