John Stones transfer saga

How can I credit them with doing nothing, which is what not selling a player you already have entails?

BTW, I wouldn't criticise them for selling Stones. I'd criticise them for making his sale a prerequisite for transfer activity though.

Stones as far as I'm concerned: get it to £30M asap and do the deal. He's not irreplaceable - he's been part and parcel of a poor defensive record last season when all is said and done and nowhere near a complete player - and we can use the cash to strengthen.
Jesus Christ.

Tbf he's played well in the two Chelsea preseason games I've seen and was decent for Stoke. But as suggested above think his name might be a case of journalists creating the rumour - we'll probably see Evans being linked to the deal if United bid.

Imagine the fume if we sell Stones and replace him with Jonny Evans lol

Still hoping for the Celtic lid to joins us.

You're missing about £20million off that figure D-Man

This is surely the first time since the Bible was written that there's been a mass fume over Moses.

The only reason these extremely lazy 'journalists' are typing meaningless copy about John Stones > Victor Moses is because he used to play for Martinez and they have 100 words to write to fill space.

As has been widely reported, John Stones isn't for sale apparently. Let's be happy with that until further developments, if indeed there are any.

There really is no need for a Victor Moses fume.

The thing with this now is, if we keep him the board will say it is a huge triumph and completely forget that once again they have underinvested in this team. It'll keep the happy clappers at bay.

I hate the direction this club is heading in.
Yep. ' We signed young players to long term deals and kept the spine of the team intact '.

Keeping the likes of Stones this summer will be celebrated as a ' Its like a new signing '.

Yeah, like they wouldn't sell Rooney for £50M...and then sold him for £27M.

You know as well as anyone that there were other issues in that one Dave.

Still cocking annoying though. Probably one of Uniteds best ever transfer deals that as well.

Fear this is done and dusted but pray the board have the balls, like last year with baines, to say no....

Best young centre half in Europe, potential to achieve anything.
We gave Rooney away for a song, although we where under severe pressure to generate cash.
Fast forward a decade and we are still stuck with the same underinvestment that this disgusting, cash hungry industry demands.
Stone is worth potentially 100m to Chelsea in future prize money.

The issues are the same now as they were then: a selling club looking to pay back money.

With the Rooney deal there was the loan repayment hanging over the club; with Stones there's been a decision to pay down debt with the tv revenues so a sell to buy summer in the transfer market is necessary.

It's groundhog day.
