Jose is always in total control of his press conferences. He is brilliant in front of the camera and I’m a big fan, not just of Jose the manager, but the person too. I think he likes me, and likes our exchanges, but I’m never quite sure. Yet on Friday, some might have said he looked dour. Moody even. He wasn’t. He was just controlling the agenda.

You sense he doesn’t want to annoy anyone at Everton, or inflame the situation over Stones any more than it already has been. The clubs have enjoyed good relations recently, and have traded players such as Samuel Eto’o and Christian Atsu in recent times. People at the Chelsea end of this deal would like cordial relations to continue, from what I gather.
Really odd U turn in strategy.

One moment chatting about the move any chance they get, how Stones couldn't turn down the opportunity of a lifetime and making digs about big/small clubs. Then the next a stonewall "no comment" in public and an apparent "hey, lets be friends" off the record message.

Probably just reminded them that should Stones go he'll have plenty of other suitors and we probably aren't the best people to be pissing off given that we hold some influence over where he might go.

worst case scenario approaching - he will be sold on 1st September and we won't get to spend the money, everton that

Not really, days of Everton doing that kind of thing are gone. If we were going to sell him we would of done so already. If we had any intention of letting him go naming a price would have clubs coming in realistically, not trying it on with silly bids. But there is no price for a player who is staying at the club.

Dramatic change of stance from Mourinho, think he's had a ticking off meself .
Sky as usual, reporter chatting poo...Etoo had already left Chelsea.and as such was a free agent.
