John Stones transfer saga

If Stones goes he will only do so if Martinez agreed to let him go, he is contracted to Everton, if Roberto thinks we can let hm go at this late stage i think it will seal Roberto's fate.
he knows we need reinforcements in other areas,he,s got a chairman without a pot to piss in.
he,s f***ed either way.

I wasn't targeting any specific posters to be honest, just the ones who make out we give our players up easily these days. But having read one of your posts back where you questioned this:

It's up to the club to convince the likes of Stones that it has ambition..and then build on it

How can Martinez for example have done any more? They've publicly slated Chelsea for their interest in Stones, Martinez has come out and said we are a big club who is trying to achieve things etc.

I just think too many people are quick to slate the club these days. Just my opinion.

I agree. Martinez managed to convince Lukaku and his clearly massive ego to join us when he thinks he's good enough for champions league football. Positivity is Martinez' strongest skill as a manager and I'm sure he has already told him he'd be silly to walk away from such a phenomenal club at this age. As you say, we just need to deliver a season that will ensure he's happy to stay next year too!

Well thats the thing isnt it, it made sense last summer. Its a much harder job now...

Not really, you don't completely weaken one of the most important areas of the set up to strengthen other areas, if Stones goes we wont have a area of the pitch as weak as the CB pairing, and Roberto has to know this.

It is a much harder job, but he did the same thing with Deulofeu this summer. Having Stones, Barkley, McCarthy, Lukaku, and Deulofeu in our squad is, in my opinion, a clear signal of ambition. I think having all of them as a group makes each one less likely to want to move on.

if jagielka or stones get injured we wont even have a centre back pairing,
do you expect them to play every game next season?

Stuart Pearce doing his bit for Chelsea regarding Stones now...are they really that desperate to drag that Neanderthal out

Yeah.....and this monumental managerial failure also reckons Milner is "signing of the summer".

Be afraid, Kopites.....be very afraid.

Then I had the misfortune to catch five minutes of Durhan and his semi literate chimp of a sidekick when I was out in the car just now.

They can't understand why Manchster Uni'ed and Citeh aren't trying to buy Stones.

Clicky off.......:coffee:

I avoid talkSPORT as a rule and Durham with a passion.

I caught five minutes if it just now and had to switch off.

Swerve it, Blues.

Now I know why Arsenal fans hate the green toothed bugger so much.

I like him, when he is not talking about us. Brilliant WUM.
