John Stones transfer saga

I think at 40 we would need to think long and hard.Any player is a bad tackle away from a career ending injury, and I doubt we have him insured for anywhere need that.Football is a business and money talks. As it stands I wouldn't be too nervous about Galloway slotting in there.

Martinez probably has a figure in mind where he'd consider it. Under present circumstances I don't believe the board will sell Stones without Martinez sanctioning the sale.

40 million plus in cash would give Martinez sleepless nights. It's easy enough to reject 30 million, but he'll have targets in mind which he can't currently afford.

No, I think our biggest issue is teams having better players than us. Here's a hint - Chelski want Stones. I'd rather keep him and add to the squad.

It's not about what you would rather do you numpty.

Clearly the biggest addition required for our team to improve results is a playmaker. Martinez has practically said so and it's well known by teams that come to Goodison that we struggle to break down teams that sit back.

Yes, we'd all rather keep Stones and add to the squad. I like to deal in reality.

The arrogance from Chelsea is mind blowing. They've been told no, and yet they keep trying, hoping the player will rock the boat. They are like a spoilt child who always get what they want. Well this time they won't, mourinho is losing the plot and so is his aging defence.

I hope they crash and burn and we beat them in a couple of weeks or whenever it is we play them.

A classless club, this time money hopefully won't talk and we'll make a real statement of intent......

you can never be sure with footballers but i really don't think Stones wants to go ... yet. I think unless we can start challenging for the league in the next few years he will move on eventually. He's an ambitious lad and wants to win trophies and be one of the best in the world. But for now I get the impression he knows it'll be the best option to develop at Everton where he's first choice and the manager trusts him.

And Martinez definitely doesn't think £35mil will offset the loss of Stones in terms of building a strong team.

Therefore if Stones goes then it'll be because the board need the money, and with the huge TV deal and us only having spent £4mil then that means the club must be in trouble.

And if that is the case then Kenwright and co need to get out of the club as soon as possible

Hahahaha. I'm a numpty for stating what I'd rather do? Isn't that basically what your argument is?

You might have a point.... If it was September. So take a leaf out of your own book, and deal in reality, because the transfer window isn't closed yet.
