It's not about that though, we shouldn't be selling for ANY money, we should be showing ambition and the will and want to build a team around some of our best in Stones, Barkley and Lukaku.
We don't NEED to sell.
Why is everyone so fascinated by money? Firstly, money in the bank doesn't help our starting team, and secondly anyone we buy will be over inflated and not as good.
Small time attitude from so many of our fans. It's sick. Grow a pair Everton. If we sell, I'm done, what's the point?
Would if I wasn't on my phone mate. It's on nsno
Naismith: We have no intention of letting go of Stones
By NSNO.co.uk on August 18, 2015
Everton forward Steven Naismith says that the club have no intention of letting John Stones leave Goodison Park this summer despite growing bids from Chelsea.
The former Rangers man said that Stones has become a mainstay of the Everton side, and has continued to go about his business in a professional manner, when it would be easy to become distracted by media talk.
The Scot said, ”We definitely want him to stay – he is a fantastic guy and footballer, and a mainstay in our team.
“You want your best players to be here to hopefully continue bringing success to Everton.
“He has progressed rapidly in the last two years and we want him to continue that under the leadership of the manager and also Phil Jagielka – I’m sure Stonesey would be the first to say he learns so much from him on a day-to-day basis.
“I think the club’s stance on it has been pretty straightforward and the manager is looking forward with Stonesey in the team.
“The manager has mentioned wanting to bring in three more players in to strengthen, and I don’t think anyone has ever thought about Stonesey moving on.
“John has gone about his business day-to-day in training in such a professional manner. He has then taken that into the games, because he has been one of the stronger performers in the team since the start of the season.”
Problem is he's one of 3 players who could be categorized as 'our most important player' and would want to be paid as such.DO NOT SELL
The premier league money has made all clubs financially secure - or as good as. We don't need to sell to survive now. Chelsea/City etc can't bully clubs an longer with £ signs.
Let's see what Everton can do with stones, Barkley, lukaku etc. it might just surprise us all.
Give him a new contract now with annual pay rises to make him our highest paid player in 2-3 years as a sweetener. Show stones our commitment to him.
what about if we give him a car with his name on ???
all the players used to have them, maybe he'd like that
I think i've riled them. Honestly the debate on there has been pretty reasonable so far. But a few just don't seem to get that we don't have to sell because they (and the media) are telling us to. Honestly can't wait for that game at Goodison. It could be angry.

From what i keep reading, Stones doesnt care that much about money right now. Im sure he would appreciate something like a nice bumper after the window but its not his sole objective right now. He is looking out for his career. Honestly, not many people would do something like he is doing.
Got it wrong I am saying he is leaving the transfer dealings with our Manager - yet posters are already making assumptions about him that he will sell Stones! Please don't use his illness as an excuse to sell Stones.
The media (the fourth estate) used to be wider society's watchdog guarding it (by disseminating important and relevant information), from the self-interest excesses of the privileged/landed/monied ...now they are bought-and-paid for shills for those interests...nothing more and nothing less. And another thing.
The media make me sick in all this - as I'm sure they do to you all.
Why can't teams outside the 'big' clubs have good players? As soon as someone shows a bit of promise they have them sold off to one of 4/5 clubs. Not just Everton but all clubs outside the circle.
Pissing me right off now.
