John Stones transfer saga

I just hope Bobby sticks to what he said in a recent interview that it's too late to by a replacement even though we are signing another CB , he will be a back up not taking up Stones place .

I smell an Arteta coming though come September .

He's not handed a transfer request it. It would be everywhere if he had and it isn't. He played really well today and doesn't look off his game. I think they will bid tomoz and we will say no and that will be it

If we sell him now, regardless of the fee, regardless of the circumstances, then I can honestly say a significant part of my love for the club will leave with him.

It's not about money, it's not about Stones, it's about having a bit of pride and dignity. It's about our fans having some belief in the club. I'd rather sit at the top table with an empty bowl than beg for crumbs on the floor from the likes of Chelsea.
This is Everton football club ffs.

@MarkCorris: Finally some sense spoken by a journalist on John Stones on the Sunday Supplement @DickinsonTimes
@DickinsonTimes: @MarkCorris ta. Really hope everton stand firm - for their sake but also cos Stones can afford to bide his time
@DickinsonTimes: As discussed on @SundaySupp this morn, Stones' value will only increase (as will top clubs' income) by 2016. Everton can and should wait
@DickinsonTimes: @Borotas_spirit also has 4 year left on contract

Anybody happen to have access to the Times Sunday supplement?

I think they are probably talking about the tv show on Sky Sports where they have 3 journalist chatting for a couple of hours. Just looked to see if I could find a clip but there isn't one on the Sky website.

I often type in John Stones on Google to see what the rags are saying. Don't even bother clicking on their sites anymore, I just laugh at the headlines. It's now changed from "John Stones to beg for move", to John Stones begs for move" lol

I don't believe anything any of them say.

Well said. I'm not too arsed about the player going in terms of having some sort of attachment to him. I rate him highly and he seems a good lad but i'm sure he will eventually move on as we can't offer him league titles etc but I can't stand clubs like Chelsea trying this. It's bad enough when clubs like Man United do it, but at least they've earnt the respect as one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Chelsea and City will soon surpass the traditional clubs like Villa and Everton but i'll never respect either of them in the same way I respect a club like Arsenal.

The way this has been handled by Chelsea and the media has been sickening and we just can't sell him now. I want to see what more lies the rags come out with if/when it doesn't happen either for my own amusement.

this is correct and from his own point of view with the euro's just around the corner he need game time, a good season and he could name his own price for a contract with the money coming.
