This should be the next banner trailed behind a plane!

But if I remember he refused to go initially when they triggered the release clause, put out the public statement he was staying.....and then went home and thought about it a bit more (possibly with helpful suggestions from City) and then changed his mind.Fair point yeah, but think that was over a shorter span of time and a different scenario - especially with the release clause.
Hahahaha, just noticed this was thread marked! If he goes I'm hoping it won't be on the last day once we've got all our incoming signings. I'll be paying for a plane with a banner myself if that happens.
Keeping quiet suits us. We're in charge of this situation, not Stones and not Chelsea. We need to deal with it our way, on our terms.I'd imagine the reason we've not publicly rejected this so far is to see if these latest developments drag city and Utd into a bidding war.
It's the best move in my opinion.
Too high ? Not for me...I think thats too high for someone who has not even had one full season in the EPL and not played a single CL game. Objectively it should be somewhere between 34 and 36M
Same will apply to VVD, Yarmo or anyone else we get in. Why can't people accept our true identity?
But what professional footballer is loyal anymoreI actually agree with this to an extent. I'm sad, but he's not a blue and a genuine contender for everything has come in for him. He's in a clear position to replace Terry both and Chelsea and for England.
I don't fault him wanting out, and if he goes I'll not hold it against him.
That said, I wouldn't sell him.
Hazard maybe. Or perhaps Zouma.Sorry for derailing your thread lads.
One thing I wil say on the Stones saga, as a Chelsea fan I do want him and think he's a very talented lad but I think the price is way to much. Would you be happier if you got a player in the deal? Say Moses?
I find it very odd how Stones has played so well despite wanting to leave this whole time.. generally players lose form when they're looking to leave (Sterling, De Gea). It seemed to me that he was certain of staying, progressing and playing well - keeping his head down and playing football like he's done this season so far.
Maybe our loss to Man City showed him how far we are from the likes of them and Chelsea?
