The other thing to consider is whether, as I believe is likely, Man United or City enter the bidding this time next year. Quite possible and YET ANOTHER reason not to sell now.

The only reason to sell now short of 100 million is to benefit Stones and Chelsea to the detriment of Everton.

We all know where this is heading £36 from Chelsea ,5.4m to Barnsley 21 million to Chelsea for the balance of Lukaku money,7 million to spuds for Lennon ,8m for Johnny Evans, including Delboys 4 million a total spend of about 10 million leaves plenty of money left from sky money for the Kosher Nostra to have another nice dip in the trough.

we had our hands tied with Rooney, we werent going to win the league with him, werent going to get relegated without him. We needed the cash. Arteta was past his best and we were offered decent cash for him, good as he was, that was a tidy deal. Lescott was a mard 4rse khunt who was a seasoned pro and threw his dolly out of the pram, very good offer for him. If he hadnt acted like a petulant kid we could have considered playing tough ball with him but he had to go. Fellaini, loved him but we got great money and replaced him with a player better suited, the money came in handy. We played tough ball with baines, everyone knew he wouldnt have kicked up a fuss if he'd have been offered a move to Utd. With Stones, we arent desperate for the money, we are in a position that we could play hard ball and either keep him or sell for stupid money. This will speak volumes on how the board see our great club for the next few years.

What I meant was the despair that filled supporters after those legends left. Stones is no legend, true, but he could have become one if he had stayed. Money speaks these days, though, and our board are mutes.

we got fantastic entertainment and trophies on the two greats who left - Stones is just potential,and should stay being an upstart he can and should be dealt with!

Thinking about it logically it's hard to be annoyed with Stones.

If your mate was earning a good wage at one company and and was still under contract, would you hate on him and call him a judas for asking to break off his contract so he could go and work for a bigger company with double the wages and a chance to work at the highest level of his/her field ?

The answer is clearly no, why should it be fine for all of us to quit one job/employer but when a footballer does it it's the greatest sin of all time and makes them a mercenary... a term which applies to most of the population. I know people will say its ok for us because the average person makes a fraction of what a footballer does and that a footballer should be content with 30k a week or whatever.... but doubling/trippling your wages is going to appeal to anyone, rich or not. He's also not an Evertonian and therefore has no connection to the club other than being an employee.

Still, I'm fuming so i've got no time for rational thought.

Sack him off the transfer requesting, bowl haircutted melt.

Anyone see Osmans interview on BT last week? Basically in answer to the Stones Question he said the club shouldn't and wouldn't sell him as they can't attract players if they keep selling their best players to league rivals. Over to you Bill.
