John Stones transfer saga

I don't see any other choice but to cash in on Stones. If the rumour of him handing in a transfer request is true, then his heads been turned and his heart is not fully at Everton. It's a Rooney situation all over again.

I think we hold slightly more power in the fact he needs to play well to get into the Euros, he's up against some stiff competition there.
And after he's stopped sulking he'll play as normal, he has done so far during this transfer saga.
But the writings on the wall.

Everton simply have to cash in now. Refusal to do so will be risky. His head will be elsewhere.

Well it's a huge week for the board. There's two scenarios where they could come out as heroes and gain the respect of even those who absolutely despise Kenwright and his henchmen.

First option is we keep him, thus legitimising the clubs and Martinez's proclaimed ambitions, and confirming that we are in fact not a selling club.

The other option is that they flog him for an obscene fee.
Both options are entirely feasible. Ths heart says option 1 should be taken. Its time to make a stance. Totally disillusioned with our plan of action (or rather lack of it). In reality it will be option 2 thats taken.
Incidentally, our plan of signing players late in the window will backfire. Inflated prices for average players. Clubs taking advantage of our desperation. And, a serious lack of time to intergrate players. Two centre backs left in June by the way, and still no replacements yet. Pathetic!!

That would be the probable response of a 'big' club.
Don't hold your breath....

Massive few weeks this, sell Stones and the campaign to oust the board should rank up to Peter Johnson levels.
The lack of investment at this great club is criminal, seeing the likes of Chelsea and Man City outspend us boils my blood.
Time for change, either in our stance over Stones and signing of a world class no10, or we force the board out before christmas.

Transfer request 7 days before the close of the window. Anyone can't see what's going on needs to open their eyes.

Sell to buy
Sell to buy
This is Everton

Sell to buy
Sell to buy
I say

Sell to buy
Sell to buy
This is Everton

Making transfers the Kenwright way!!!!

@davek

Have you left for a month yet like you said you would?

Arse
Gone.

Sorry John, it's too late for us to find a replacement. Play well and you'll get your move next summer where the bidding should start at 50m.

It should be this simple.

If it really is a case of Stones doing this out of the blue, we'll do exactly the above.

If it's orchestrated in advance, the player will leave on deadline day.

The pressure at Chelsea will be ten fold to what it is with us as well.

Exactly. Chelsea can offer him more money and a much better chance of silverware but he's got to realise if he goes the scrutiny is gonna increase especially considering the transfer price aswell. Slight dip in form or drop in confidence due to a costly mistake and he will see that playin for a club with title ambitions has it's downsides.
Nothing against the lad personally. He doesn't owe us loyalty and we don't owe him any.
