John Stones transfer saga

Tell Chelsea we want 60 million for him. If they say no then duck him and leave him in the reserves. Hes on a long deal with us so if he wants to play the bellend then he can be treat like one. Even with a transfer request the club can turn it down and grow a set. I'm sick of the modern game. Contracts mean nothing and money means everything.

Is it clear though?

If they wanted to sell, why reject the bids out of hand, and why say he's not up for sale?

On the face of it, the club have rejected offers, said he's not for sale, and the player has handed a transfer request in.

To me that looks bad on Stones as opposed to Everton.

That's the issue isn't it . The manager came out and said that but as I said when the first bid came out it was the club via its website or the chairman that needed to come out and say that.

The signs have been there , the offer of a new contract needed to be made, the lack of public comment from the player himself and the ambiguous comments from the manager did little to calm things down it just led to the story

Chelsea were in the box seat , and I accept he may well not go there, once they made a bid. Chelsea will have know the players wishes either through player to player discussion, agent to player to club or more likely in my opinion through senior management levels at the two clubs

When the phrase came out yesterday that Chelsea were going to end negotiatons and then the story leaked in the press that Chelsea were turning their attentions to Garary then that suggested to me that Stones and the club(Everton) had
the transfer request discussion and the price Everton wanted was too high

I can't see any point in keeping a player who wants away. It's all well and good talking about being strong and all that but Everton don't have the resources to do that .

Problem is, I don't think he's gonna fail, and like Rooney, it's an "Imagine if we kept our players" scenario.

Board can grow a pair and so nah mate. you're staying.
Not like Rooney at all. Rooney was as good as complete when he left. United added nothing to him and they didn't have to.

Stones is a defender who cant defend.

I would tell him he is going nowhere. He can rot in the reserves if he sulks. Send out a message to him and any other player who thinks theyare bigger or better than Everton FC. Big week coming up, sell him and Martinez appears weak and Chelsea's disgusting media campaign wins. Tell them to **** off!
That would be the probable response of a 'big' club.
Don't hold your breath....

I don't see any other choice but to cash in on Stones. If the rumour of him handing in a transfer request is true, then his heads been turned and his heart is not fully at Everton. It's a Rooney situation all over again.

Why do you think we're always looking for up and coming youngsters profit that's all not for the fans not for the club but for the cowards pockets running this club.

Yup, sorry for all the Stones fans out there, but he has screwed us over here. Leaving it this long to prove his money driven disloyalty. A*****e.

Everton now, I'd like to see them do one of two things.

Either say to Chelsea, yes he's yours for 50-60m (hey why not, they want him that bad let them pay ffs)
OR - just say Stones is available - 50m minimum - we will take the highest bidder. Let all the rich t***s fight it out between themselves.

This whole situation, transfer window, EFC's increasing inability to sign anyone is quite soul destroying really.
