I wouldn't even accept £30m for him. He'll be our and England's captain for years to come, I'm certain of it. £40m and I suppose we'd probably have to listen, though I genuinely wouldn't sell him for any amount.

In fact he's probably the only player in our squad I wouldn't sell for any price.

Chelsea are very interested in Stones. Everton have said they won't listen to anything below £30m.

Same with Barkley but £50m.

Tough position for Everton and the players this. Hard for the players heads not to be turned if Jose is saying he's going to start them and throw silly wages at them.
Also suppose it depends how much Chelsea care about FFP. Doesn't seem to have bothered City too much.

Dependant on whether Ross signs a new deal I would want 100m for the pair minimum.
 
Another thing that should increase the value of Stones and Barkley is the fact that they are English. Especially since UEFA is starting to moan about clubs buying foreign players instead of cultivating homegrown talents... back to the need to have 5 domestic players on the pitch. I don't think it will happen, but the idea is thrown around again.

With Baines, Stones, Jagielka & Barkley we have 4 English internationals (or soon to be anyway in Stones case), Osman and Hibbert are the other English players near the A-team.

I'm not living in Liverpool, or even England. But I do still Believe that we need English players in the squad and on the pitch.

I'd like to believe that but I'm curious as to where you've heard this?
 

Stones, Barkley...pure diamonds. Two young guns wanted by everybody. Not going anywhere, will not worry at all. They have it good here.

Same mate who told me Everton had £30m to spend this summer weeks before Roberto came out and said we had the Fellaini money to spend. Works for sports agency who Ross and Stones are signed with.

Well it'd be nice if he's right. Ill reserve the right to remain sceptical though if that's alright with you?

I'm disappointed either way.

We shouldn't be entertaining offers for these players. You can't replace Barkley. Home grown potentially world class player.
