Reason I registered to respond to this comment.

John won't be an England regular in 18 months as Jagielka will perfect his partnership with Gary Cahill. John Stones will likely be an England regular in 2-3 years.
I'm pleased I evoked such an urge to respond. Welcome to GOT. Post naked pics of yourself often.

I think he'll be something the likes we haven't seen at Everton for a long time! I'm more excited about him than any of our players

I think he's selected jones and obviously stones is going home but changes can still be made due to injury right up until the start of tournament.

So jones plays tonight but if he aggravates his injury Roy could still bring stones in at any point.

IMO smalling is the lucky one getting the nod. I always would of took jones due to his versatility and stones as the young CB.

Once smalling and maybe even jones are replaced at utd, I think you will see them both drop quickly off the England radar!!

i tend to agree, they're both not utterly awful, they're just not man united good. if they went to a mid table team, people would probably view them as better players. still haven't really seen enough of smalling but his as well as jones' transfer fee (same with glenn johnson probably) i believe gets them the nudge over players of a similar ability, as well as their club.

jones is a good option for versatility, same as milner, you need these type of players in a world cup squad who you can rely on. they'll always have their critics though because they don't seem like an exciting player, but give me the not so flashy and reliable phil jones over eratic non-defenders like johnson and walker any day of the week.

i've looked up at the england game a few times....i take back what i said about smalling, he's utterly terrible isn't he?

Hodgson's an idiot.

Played him twice now and never in his correct position the tit.

If anything surely stick Flanagan left back, Jones right back and Stones in the middle?

Have a feeling he might take Stones now with Chamberlins injury, Sasana are light at the bacl .

But can he make amendments to the squad at this point? I think they had to hand in the ultimate list of 23 and Stones is not among them, no? Even if Chamberlain injures himself, they can't take anyone to replace him now at least that's my understanding.
