Would still like to know why he played RB for Barnsley - would hope we aren't shoehorning him into a Cemtral defender role because that's what we need right now, despite where his true talent may lie.

He's a six foot two ball playing centre half mate. Often centre halves start off at full back but defo suited to centre half.

He's right footed. Playing him at left back would have been stoopid.
Also, Barnsley is in Yorkshire. Nowt so queer as folk.

Well in, Stonesy. He's obviously got a lot to learn, but if this lad develops to fulfill his potential, he could prove to be a huge asset.

Don't blame him for the goal.. he got his head on the cross to clear it, just that it fell to one of their players outside the box and no one closed him down quick enough.

I think his future is at CB but it's great he can also play at RB. Versatility it's a must for squad as small as ours and it gives us options.

Don't wanna jump the gun but God he looked good in the stoke game, made me feel very very confident about the future of our defense tbh, now we have Bracewell and Ratcliffe mark II at the team, come on lets find the new Sharpie and Steven too and we will be set ;)

...I expected this lad to be bit good from what was said by Lawrenson when we signed him. Moyes was tracking him but only made his move when RM tried to snatch him for Wigan. Perhaps I'm being cynical, but I wonder if Moyes was leaving him for Man Utd. Regardless, he looks a Rolls Royce player to me. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a fixture by seasons end, he could even be that good that England come knocking for the next Ferdinand.

Perfect introduction for Stones and Alcaraz under the Martinez style. We know with Martinez that we will have a lions share of possession which means less pressure on the CBs. Under Moyes in many games we defended leads or not wanting to lose therefore we invited more pressure onto us. Jags and Distin passed this test with flying colours. Thankfully, we are able to introduce new players in the fold knowing that they will not be under sustained pressure playing our new sexy football.
