John Stones

It's rather embarrassing that our defence relies on a twenty year old lad, with relatively little experience at the highest level, to be secure.

Without him we look a different team at the back. It highlights actually how good he actually is!

What a difference to the side when he plays. Jags looks embarrassingly nervous compared to him. We should make him our top earner because he looks better than the centre halfs than all the sky clubs already.with the possible exception of Kompany. The bids are gonna come very soon we need to sign him up

Yes and he makes it look so easy and effortless...sign of a good player for me, and this after only being back from injury a few games. He won't be the complete centre half until he can show he can handle forwards like Carroll. Interesting to see how he gets on Tuesday night especially if we allow them to cross into the box too easily.

I wouldn't so much say it's embarrassing and more a reflection of how good he is. Coleman, Jagielka, Distin and Baines didn't just wake up one morning crap. Maybe one of them has tailed off ie Distin due to age or attitude but there's obviously a confidence problem. His calmness rubs off on the others and that's why we play better with him in the team

He did last year, he was dominating big strong strikers, and if i remember right im sure he came up against carroll too

......I'm old, I'm very old and I would already play him CB in the best Everton X1 I have seen. He's an outstanding talent, has a brilliant attitude and proper intelligence.

Reminds me so much of Labone. Same build but hardly ever got bullied, great positional sense and very good on the ball. No higher accolade than that for me. And if only we could get a Ratcliffe next to him.

The man who gave Stones his chance and signed Mc Carthy and Lakaku?

He was signed by our EX in 2013 at which time he was 18. The way Jags and Distin were playing then how could our EX have given him a chance. You make it sound like it was all down to RM which it was not. Our EX seen in John what was great and signed him up on a long contract.

Was roberto who converted him into the CB
