Alcaraz coming of a good game and Stones clearly not being 100% fit, its not hard to see why he made that decision.

If Stones is fit he starts its that simple, he clearly wasn't. He would have travelled and been in the squad because the other option would have been Distin.

I wouldn't rely too much on hearsay. The Express said Peter Crouch was taunting us on Twitter when all he said was Kiev's 5th was "Some goal, that."

Clearly chose alcaraz over stones. Obvs thinks highly of alcaraz. He brought him here! Remember kids, wigan wouldn't of been relegated had he not been injured.

Distin on his last legs is better than alcaraz. Never mind a not fully fit stones.

Only when this joker is gone will we truly realise and see just how bad his management really is.

If he is not fit to play he won't be on the bench. Simple. Why don't we see Piennar and Oviedo on the bench. Martinez fook this up. He played Alcaraz and left Stones on the bench, even Dustbin at home is a better option at least he can head the ball better than Alcaraz.

Id accept that point if it wasent for Barry, Naismith & Howard come straight into a team when Gibson/Besic, Osman & Robles have all been better when they have played and lost their place as soon as they became available again

Stones may have been fit for a regular 90 minute game, although he wasn't a few days earlier, but a high pressure tie that could well have gone to extra time may have been too much for him. Especially since his last European game he got a red card and that might have played on his nerves.

Obviously hard to believe even half fit he would have had a worse game than Alcaraz did but Alcaraz wasn't our only weak link yesterday - Coleman and McCarthy weren't providing much protection so John would have been similarly exposed.
