Yeah, think it mellowed with a few transfers like Howard/Gibson/Neville but reignited with the tapping up of Moyes followed by Baines/Fellaini.
Chelsea are great negotiators but United would have to pay us a fortune to get Stones, they had to pay us a high fee for Rooney despite him holding the club to ranson in a way that cannot see John contemplating.
The problem is, he'd walk into that United team. I'd almost prefer it if it was only Chelsea who were in for him.

You don't understand. He won't be given the choice. He still has 4 years i believe on his deal so he would have to kick up a stink. They're human too and I can't see him doing that to Martinez.

Think Chelsea would drop out in a bidding war just like they did with Shaw but not before driving the price up to the highest Utd would pay. Don't want him to go but if he is to go we'd probably get the most amount of money from Utd.

Not surprised. We where raped over Rooney. He was ahead of Ronaldo at that stage.
Valuations were a lot different then though, it's easy to forget. Clubs only started spending 50-80 million on players in recent years. It's stupid money now.
