Not sure if it was a mis hit clearance or a pass for Barkley that set up the latters run that set up the penalty. Think it was a pass as iirc he has done some other lovely long passes in previous games.

It is valuable skill to have especially when we have teams that sit back against us at Goodison.

He did just about the same thing about 10 mins later when he chested the ball down from the corner, juked the corner taker on the baseline and almost released Mirallas.

Didnt see him at all today....how was his overall game?

Most interested to learn how he brings the ball out from the back + how he passed it out -- key for our system.

hes scrawny and weak, unless he gets on the protein shakes strikers are gonna be wishing they play against him every day especially big tall fat ones like bony and carroll.

He's kept, Carroll, Cole & Crouch quiet in the games he's played. Bony was on a one man mission today, not many would have stopped him. Whilst i agree he needs to bulk up, your reasoning is well, wrong, because as i say, he's kept them all quiet.

nah he got away with it cos it was at goodison and because we will dominate games against most opponents due to our passing style. so my reasoning is sound.

You can tell Stones is going to be a really good player and the experience he is gaining currently is very beneficial. However, he's not the finished article quite yet. You can tell he is a young player by his often positional naivety. The defence will definitely be stronger when Jagielka is fit. Stones, for the moment, is an able back-up.

He's not as lightweight as people here are making out. Pretty impressed with him easing players off the ball, then having the composure to pick a pass rather than hoofing it clear.

Just needs to concentrate more, but that'll come. He's class.

With experience at when to play or boot it I think this lad will become top drawer. Positioning needs work as well. I'll get onto Robbie .Remember it probably hardest position playing at that age. Looks so comfortable on ball (most of time!!). Agree with simon b -has a bit of strength and likes a slide tackle.
