Not when you do it, as happened a few times today, with the same pass to Howard or to Funes Mori which was open with far less risk and with them having more time a few seconds earlier.

Was he to know that when he does his fake and turn or pause that more options wouldn't open up? I don't think so, and of course there comes a point when he has to give it and yeah maybe it ends up not being the best passing option.

Point is, and I am glad we have the manager to do this, let them get on with showing their talent and having the confidence to try things like this. The other stuff will come with experience.

I am glad he fancy-danned his way out of defence at the end there because he is good enough to know he can lose that player and thus have space to pick a better option rather than hoofing it aimlessly.

Much better today though nearby give me a heart attack doing cryuff turns a few yards from our goal, Obvious our lads don't trust starjumps though

Yep he should not be taking the ball towards our own goal from a few yards away even if he felt he was in control. Not surprised the crowd wanted him to get rid of it. That needs to be coached out of him.

The point I was trying to make about mentioning the time was that he was into his own stuff rather than thinking about the amount of time that there was left in the game. I would have preferred to have seen it up the other end - which he had the chance to do - rather than him beating a player a number of times in his own box at the end of a game which we could have done with winning..

'The Prince' blotted his copy book there with that gesture.

I have sympathy in that he's trying to play it out and not Unsworth it into the stands, but he was fannying about...and those supporters did forgive and forget his transfer request.

Young Beckenbauer needs to get a grip.

....agree, he shouldn't react like that especially when the fans were right to panic.

I like how you blame Howard for all of our losses this season, but are unable to see that in this case it's actually Howard who's very much in the wrong.

I factor Howard into every defensive mistake, tbh. Just take it as read!

Still, Howard is yards from his line and anything can happen if he rolls the ball toward him. Get it on his right and get it down the line was the choice.

Which is a mistake 150% on Howard, as he was glued to his line. He can't "roll it to his right", as that's a thing you're taught when you're a youngster - you don't pass to a keeper on his line.

If Howard doesn't offer the pass to the right, the pass isn't there, what that's gonna result is in something called a "corner kick", Dave. Stones looked towards Howard, Howard just remained in one spot for some reason, he had to do something.

So what are we trying to achieve by jumping on his back? A pat on his tooch on his way to Barca? Because all it is going to do is stiffen his resolve to get away.
Genius
In case you hadn't realised, he's gone anyway. He's had a transfer request in and we are not going to get in the Champions League the way we are going. We just have time to groom or buy a replacement.

The matchgoing fans who worry about the turns in the penalty box at the end of the game can be forgiven if you think about the amount of times they have seen wins and draws given away by the defence that he is a part of - sometimes very late on in the game - and he betrays a lack of understanding with the 'calm down' gesture.

Sure the turns might add a couple of millions to his fee and we might be glad of it when he is sold. But I would have preferred seeing it in midfield.
