John Stones

that is a very good point, Wooly.

His ball playing skills are excellent and we haven't conceded due to him being caught in possession this season from what I can recall.

His day job however is to be a centre half and it appears to me he needs to work on other aspects of that role, such as clearing high balls into the box, the Achilles Heel of our excellent young team rather than the eye catching Cruyff turns.

His positioning and some of the other bread and butter parts of his job still need a fair amount of work. I'd say he's improved a bit on his heading this season, but it was from a low base so, as he gets older and stronger I'd expect a fair amount of improvement there.

He is sublime to watch on the ball though. Doubtless he'll balls something up while on the ball sometime this season and we'll concede from it, at which point everyone, including myself, will fume !

It was quite visible he was saying 'f off' when walking away towards the centre circle after that incident - an incident which immediately after Besic came up and lauded him for.

I don't blame him, either. Stop getting on his back, he knows what he's doing when on the ball, and he had a good game yesterday.

didnt like his reaction to the crowd, he looks like he's had enough. I love Everton, but I wish some of the neanderthals who scream at our players, especially Howard and Kone, would do one, by all means have a moan but do it at the right time, not during the game.

I think the crowd are within their rights to want a central defender to knock the ball safe, just days after the same player has conceded a penalty in injury time, to let in the 7th home goal inside 2 games.
He's not the messiah, he's a naughty boy.

If he leaves, a perfect replacement would be Robert Huth... haha seriously though, Stones is quality and always looks in control of a situation. The best thing about him is that he's only going to get better!
