John Stones

He is doing my head in a bit, and I feel we wont be much worse off if we sold him, and reinvested the money.

BUT, I have absolutely loved watching him for the last 18 months (last month aside), he has been brilliantly entertaining.

But I support Everton, not just John Stones.

check ya head Pabs!

We are watching a player still learning, and he is already brilliant at aspects of the game.

I hope he stays until 2030.

He did cause a few flutters when he started his step overs. It was great to see when it was over, not so great when he was doing it. The hand gesture to the crowd was hopefully just a bit of bravado. I'm sure he'll have been told not to do it again, if he needed telling.
I was more worried about the performance of Howard, defenders looked very nervous at times looking for him to do something.
As for Stones, we need to keep him if we are building something at Everton.

Howard was just gonna hoof it out and Besic as you say ran away when he realized the pressure was there. Its not showboating, hes trying to play out from the back despite of there being pressure. The measure of great players is how they cope with pressure and as far as defenders go he's as good as they get.
Im afraid you're talking bollocks - he got himself into a hole because he still doesn't know when to launch it and when not to.

He wasn't in a hole, he'd probably have kept turning until an option presented itself, like he usually does. It's bizarre to me that so many people are getting on his back. He has 100+ senior games under his belt and how many times has his dribbling from deep lead to a goal? You could probably find more examples of goals coming from surrendered possession via hoofing.

What was the end result of all of that? we kept the ball cause they fouled us. That's much better than launching it aimlessly into row Z.
he didn't get himself into a hole, he was in a hole when he got the ball. He then twisted, saw Besic who was in a sticky situation, twisted then saw Howard who had 2 Spurs attackers sniffing around and decided to keep it a bit long till someone else gets open, they didn't, he got fouled. Players like him don't 'launch' balls cause they believe they can find better solutions. Its this sort of arrogance on the ball that makes really great teams just that. if we had more players in our back six with his level of ability on the ball then we'd be a much better team. imagine telling Bobby Moore, Baresi, Scirea, or god forbid Beckenbauer to launch balls when they feel they can create another option...just imagine.
