Luiz was unfairly criticized because of his eccentric style. The better you are technically as a defender the worse defender you're perceived. I feel for Stones, he probably needs a move to La Liga where insanely jealous, marginal players like Carragher aren't slandering his name or fans aren't getting on his back because he refuses to hoof and concede possession.

I'm sorry but Barcelona players etc, contrary to belief... DO ACTUALLY hoof the ball. They defend first and foremost.

At least the summer bid if not more. Getting stuck with another defender getting up there in age on a large wage as well just doesn't seem smart.

Well in stones case he'd rather try a suicide pass to the keeper or cruyff turns etc instead of just getting rid, not saying he never gets rid but he needs to make the decision of when and when not to, much quicker

Can't see it happening. Think Martinez will continue to start Stones despite the criticism and sell him at a premium in the summer. His price drops if he benches him.
