John Stones

Just showed the goal, Jags got done in the air again and Stones was two yards behind Jags and tried to cover for him but couldn't get there, only Jags can be blamed for that.
It also didn't help that Veretout had forever to pick out a cross because our left back was sidelined with an injury at the time. Given all the circumstances, it's strange that people are getting so worked up about the goal.

Tbh its not a question wanting to 'get rid' to me its a question of who's the best player plays, Jags and Mori are better players at this time in that position and as a pairing, simple. If someone wants to pay crazy money and the lad wants out ( I think he does not only by his request but by his form and attitude) then I have no problem with him going based what I think of the lad as a player, some think it will be the end of Everton and ambition I don't!

A request that was turned down and he simply carried on playing. Did not kick up a fuss, did not refuse to play. He kept on playing and put in some very good performances. And yet you say he has a bad attitude? How can you tell, do you know him? Do you know for sure he's whinging and moaning because to me it never looks like he is...

Every player has dips in form. That doesn't mean they want out. it means he's a young player who didn't play to his usual standards for a few games.

Jags and Mori are currently the better pairing, on form, and I have no issue with them playing, but stop making out Stones to be some sort of judas. I'm sure you were praising him when he was brilliant for us from October through December?

If he does go, it's by no means the end of our ambition and I don't think anyone is saying that.

What many are saying is that they don't get fans actively wanting us to sell one of the best players we've had at this club in generations and a player who anybody who is anybody in the game has said will become one of the greats - but is still learning his trade.

It's called developing a player and that doesn't mean that after a few mistakes or a period of tricky form he should be sold. Sums up exactly what is wrong with the current attitude of many football fans, IMO.

Everytime I or anyone criticise the lad all you hear is " arr ya driving him out mate, no wonder he wants to leave ya don't deserve him"! Rubbish, heard it all ! If anyone or anything is driving Stones out of Everton its all the over the top praise from the fans and the press, his agent is loving it!

Form dipped for few games, Best player in generations, still learning his trade, one of the greats, sums up the death of modern football, oh the humanity!

okay Donald. I think your mind is made up.

Fair enough if that's your opinion.

Personally if/when he leaves, I'll be gutted. I won't be angry at him or the club as I can definitely see it happening and that's football, and now we know that with this investment it's very likely we'll be able to use all of the funds we get for him to go back into the squad.

But I don't like the idea of selling one of our best players and one of the best developing talents in Europe at the minute. A few iffy performances don't change that for me.

Sorry for being silly a tad. I'm not basing this on a few 'iffy' performances mate. I really don't think he's a central defender who's as good as he or people think. I've been quite strident on this for a while as my post history on this thread will show. There's so much good about his game but so much bad and the bad I see wont be trained out of him, ever.

I would like to see him as a Barry replacement just in a few games next season if he is around

Less aerial pressure can utilise his passing skills and dribbling more. I don't think he's a central defender. Barry started as a cb too
