I actually think is very good to see that Bobby dropped him swiftly after it was clear to everybody that Johns concentration was way off. It's not so far fetched to say or suggest that all the interest from City and other clubs have had an effect in him. If this is the case I think we should let him go for british record sum for a defender.

He has uniques skills which at 21 make him the best young defender of his generation. What he doesn't have yet is that hard earned nous that comes with more games and more experience that all dominant defenders acquire . And acquire is the right word for you can acquire experience but you can't acquire the skill set he has.

Beg to differ.

Surely, it's the role of the manager to sit the player down and discuss things with him calmly and rationally?

For me, El Bob needs to explain to him why the crowd or some of them get concerned... explain that sometimes it's not wrong to go Row Z... talk to him about how he sees his future within the Everton set-up under his management and the players role in a squad system.

Stones is and has an exceptional talent that needs to be nurtured, encouraged and guided - not just sold because some other club waves a big fat cheque book around.

Quite frankly, I'm getting fed up of people suggesting after a few blips that JS or indeed any other of our blossoming, young talent should be sold.

Only if, and l for one hope this doesn't happen, JS or any other submit transfer requests and insist that nothing will talk them out of it should we even consider selling.

I feel sorry for Stones. He's a kid who has no affiliation to Everton. He's come here, down a great job and been talked about getting a move to various CL clubs.

Yet he's now a scumbag in some peoples minds. He's doing exactly what a top class footballer should be doing. Stepping stones. If he gets the move to a CL club then yes it's horrible to see him leave and i'll admit i'll be fuming and upset. BUT he gets what he deserves.

This isn't the days of Le Tissier staying true to his roots and rejecting the big boys. Footballers are here to win and be the best.

Gonna get stick for this, but even if i was a local lad like Barkley and i was standing out from the team, if a CL team come knocking, i'd want to go and play in the CL and win trophies. That's the reality.

Completely agree so many people can't see past the here & now. Players like Barkley & stones simply need to play & learn the professional side of the game.

Sterling came in & did well because he is a diligent worker & generally does the professional elements of his role well but he has already reached his ceiling as technically he simply isn't good enough.

Stones doesn't do the things we take for granted from most defenders particularly well yet but soon they will become second nature as they are learnt behaviour & will come with experience then his natural technique & ability will propel him way beyond his peers

I'd also add pique was pretty much a disaster whenever I seen him at United looked too slow & unable to cope with physical pressure it's simply a waiting game with stones it's not an if he becomes world class but a when
