Not writing him off at all mate. In fact think he could be an utterly superb midfielder. He drove us forward second half like dare I say Gerrard did for the RS at times.
He's a sensational footballer. Just not a centre half for me. Dier is exceptional but our Stones could be better in that role. His passing is top drawer.
At this point in time he is a young defender who has great potential. That potential can be unlocked primarily you would think through his ability to learn the teaching coming from either the coaching staff or a player as a mentor.It seems to me that no one at Everton has those skills .
I suspect most think he isn't going to be number one choice at the Euros, that's unless either Smalling or Cahill gets injured , I suspect that most don't expect him to be at Everton at the start of next season ,I don't nor do I feel anyone is going to pay big money for a CD then convert him to a midfielder
Money can't buy you Stones was sung but I suspect in the next 3 months or so that will turn out not to be true and I wonder how much money that's going to turn out to be.
