He was one of the best players on the pitch...

He was responsible for both goals we let in.

He did however show some glimpses of who he are in the second half. After his shoulders could drop and just go for it after we missed the pen.

There was that moment when he charged through about 5 players and offloaded the ball superbly onto the right wing.

If that was Eric Dier or Dele Alli or Jack Wilshere or Jordan Henderson the press would be wetting themselves.

Fact is he is an unbelievable talent.

I honestly could not blame any of our players move on in the summer, we have been going backwards for 2 years and no significant action has been taken. If we allow Martinez to remain at the club until the end of the season then it will reinforce the feeling that this board are content to stay in the Premiership but not interested in seriously trying to make a significant improvement.
Players have a fairly short shelf life they can't afford to waste 2/3 years while directors procrastinate on what to do.
Decisive action now, albeit that it is much too late. Should have been done last Christmas and when that didn't happen then last summer.

And it's the way he should play.

He's at his best when he does what he wants. Sack everyone else. He's good enough to do it. It spurred us on and there was actually some decent movement in front of him as well.
