John Stones

First time I watched Stones play was in pre season couple years ago. Might have been against Tranmere or Celta Vigo (very similar!) He made a howler of a mistake. The kind he keeps making recently.

He needs a real quality coach to iron that out of him and fulfill his potential. But he needs a proper system to play in where players know exactly where they should be. Not this clown football.

He hasn't really developed as you would have hoped in the time.
Tell him to watch some footage of labone heading a ball and controling is part of the pitch

Sam Allardyce throws his hat in for the Everton job:

SUNDERLAND boss Sam Allardyce wants to sign John Stones - and teach him how to defend!

Everton’s England international defender hasn’t had the best season of his fledgling career, but that matters not to Allardyce.

The Sunderland manager - himself a former centre-half - told Chronicle Live: “I’d like to sign Stones, him alongside (Lamine) Kone would be a good combination”

“I’d teach him how to defend,

“It would be a simple job for me. That’s my area of expertise in many ways.

“I can coach in all departments, especially team play but when it comes to defending, you name it, I’ll tell you about it.”

It remains to be seen whether Allardyce follows up his interest with a formal bid.

Stones was accelerated into the spotlight too quickly - not helped by the decline of Distin and the Chelsea interest

He should publicly declare his intent to stay at Everton to alleviate the media pressure, then get his head down and work hard for a couple of years, develop into the player everyone says he can be

At the moment there's a disconnect between the pedestal he's been put on and what he actually delivers on the pitch. He's cost us a lot this season in a number of ways

Bring Him Home Sam

Can't believe sam playing mind games with us before you get gifted 3 points probably. This won't go down well in the dressing room, taking the piss out of one of our younger players. Don't think Stonsey will need to learn how to avoid relegation from sam judging by the teams looking to sign him.

Attacked the ball today started to look like he did a year ago, didn't try to do anything fancy just passed when it was on and got rid when it wasn't. Hope Moshy has been in his ear about a new contract.
