John Stones

and I thought the manager thread was weird!

Does the Persian bloke who bought Everton realise what a bunch of out there supporters he's got hanging onto his investment coat-tails?

He might be in for a shock

....the dilemma for Stones will be similar to last season if this morning's stories are true that he is going nowhere. For a Premier League international of his standing he will be on very low wages. I would suggest he is easily the lowest paid outfield player in the England squad.

That situation won't change unless he either moves or signs a new contract. Whilst I applauded our stance last summer it didn't work out well for anybody, let's hope the new regime can make a more positive outcome happen.

If he decides to get his head down and work at it, if he listens and takes on board the advice from Koeman then he has the talent to become half as good a defender as Koeman was. I am hoping that this will influence his decision because I would really like him to stay.

We do not as yet officially have a manager, let's wait and see what he says when asked.
Last year RM was very determined to keep the player from the very start. We need to see what Koeman thinks, he may be happy to take the money and bring in somebody of his own choosing, moreso if Stones is absolutely adamant he wants to leave.

I believe something definite will happen this summer as Stones cannot continue to work under a contract which does not come close to reflecting his stature in the game.

Have you seen this outrageous skill from Hart? He only goes and nutmegs Stones rabona style!!!
(since when is a nutmeg allowed on someone that is a. Not looking and b. Walking in the opposite direction?!)

That being said, we must sign Hart for 40 million now given his tekkers and bin off Stones given his embarrassing defending there!

Surprised Sturridge didnt get injured there.

Of the two, the 20-goals-a-season striker is by far the harder, and more costly, to replace.

Ideally we keep both of them, but if one has to go then it should be Stones.

Can't agree here - and I would love Rom to stay, but he's already convinced himself he's gone I think.

You start from the back, and if Koeman can convince Stones to stay then Stones is only going to improve playing under one of the best ball-playing defenders of recent times.

I agree that Rom is going to be hard to replace, definitely, but I think right now we should be looking to build the team around Stones and Barkley, as it seems Rom (in his head at least) is already out of the door.

Either a stout old school everton fan hating this or a post modern everton fan loving this sort like ijjiggysmith loving the fact Justin beibler once wore the jarg everton third kit somewhere hot and sunny lol
