John Stones

He wouldn't have had the opportunity to earn so much without us and as soon as he thought he could move onto somewhere bigger he jumped at it.

No way to thank the club for bringing you into the Premier League by wanting to jump ship after your first full season.

He doesn't play for Everton any more and didn't want to be here when he was so it is good riddance from me and thanks for the cash.

End of the day he's a player who has no more loyalty to the club than anyone else.

You're taking it far too personally.

It's business and money talks, end of.

His interview about how 3 city players told him they need him and to join city when he was on the Euros. Hart and Sterling, not sure who the third one is.

Hate modern footballers
Normal though, isn't it? Say you were a professional, playing for a top team and one of your good mates was at Everton and you'd love him to join your team - of course you're going to be in his ear. Nothing wrong with that imo.

Not bothered by his departure. He wants to leave for a year. I don't think he is that good at defending (as CB). Maybe he will move to DM one day?

Reason #56 why I hate England.

I utterly detest the national side. In fact I think the 'my club is better than your club' antics between the egotistical bells, are what have completely flattened this countries chances over the past 2 decades of achieving anything tangible. They never will until a manager is put in place to cut out any of this nonsense. Sadly with the money they are on, the pampering they receive, combined with the natural instinct to hate kopite players, it will never work.

Heres my take, Stones was always going to go, the only discussion has ever been how much, he wasnt sold to satisfy any rules on wages or to boost our transfer kitty, he was sold cos for the 12months he has expressed a desire to leave. We received a bid we found acceptable and we sold him.

Did the transfer delay our business? Very much so, we had to wait for Stones to 100% go, with his sale it allows us to target different players, it allows us to offer players more wages and it then gives us leeway with regards regulations. If Stones would have stayed we still could have signed players, but we wouldnt have been able to offer them decent wages and it would have restricted the volume of players we could target.

Thats my view, for what its worth.

Couldn't care less about mistakes he made when trying to pass the ball out of defence but not sure I seen the same player as the media when they talk about this ball playing centre half setting up attacks from defence. That's not the problem for him, it's the fact he's never going to throw his head in or put his body on the line to block a shot. Kind of lad who'll look great in Spain but really doubt he's going to become a top defender playing here.
