He had the undisputed best team in world football in Spain to implement his system, then took over one of the best teams in world football in Germany to implement his system there. I reckon City are roughly the 3rd-4th best team in English football. It's not exactly a certainty it's going to work here.
Out of interest, who would say is better than them?

1. Everton
2. Everton
3. Everton
4. Man City

Looks about right.

But yeah, same really. Not even sure on Arsenal anymore myself like, pretty open for 5th in that scenario.

I will whisper this and I did say this to melon head earlier on the phone, but the fella Klopp is building a half decent team and he can grind out results, if I was to pick another 5th, they would be my choice.

Was gonna say that but didn't want to for obvious reasons. Had the same conversation with a friend a few days ago.

Wenger should've left Arsenal a few years ago to be fair.

I don't think it us even where City rank in the echelon that counts so much.

They might even be the best team.

The problem Guardiola is going to find in England, IMO is that the gap berween the best three or four teams here is nowhere near the gulf that exists between them in Spain nor the yawning chasm there is in Germany.

I am not saying mid table teams in Spain or in Germany are inferior to similiar teams here, just saying that in England the playing field is much more level.

It will not be just a case of showing up and lifting the points with relative ease most weeks as it was with Barcelona and Bayern.

So I agree with you.....there are no certainties at City and it is going to be Pep's biggest challenge in his managerial career thus far to get City to the top.

Interesting from the BBC

City new-boy John Stones might be the best ball-playing defender in English football but he knows when to put his foot through the ball here, as Duncan Watmore threatens to break. On the touchline, Pep Guardiola was quick to voice his approval too.
