I think there's separate arguments here.
Are we better off without him? That entirely depends on what your priorities and expectations are. If you want us to be more solid right now then yeah maybe we are better off without him. I however prioritise keeping great players at the club, because I kind of like watching them, and reckon he would have gone back to his best under Koeman.
However the other argument on how good he is... I just think anybody who doesn't see that he is already a cracking footballer with some flaws that will get ironed out at City is just wrong, and will be proven wrong in the near future. Wrong and silly.
He knows how to use that football thingy better than most I've seen play for Everton since the 80s. Superb footballer.

He is slowly getting that cockiness back Legs. Can see it in the last two games. He is going to put on a couple of those shows soon and people will all be raving about him again.
It's a pity he was hounded out of the club by some fans and had no choice but to leave us. We need to cull the fanbase and he might come back when we are boss again in a couple of seasons. Shouldn't be a problem.
That's a complete crock of horse muck mate. He wasn't hounded out by anyone except his agent.

Well I do know that nobody was on his case until he decided to jib us off and put in a transfer request after a season and a half in the first team.
You can't blame the supporters for Stones wanting to get off. It was him wanting to jib us off that turned the supporters against him.
