He is great on the ball, brilliant even, but he switches off during games far too often, losing his man. Let's see how he gets on throughout the season, he hasn't had too many tough games yet because the season is still young, the same applies to city as a team.

That's not how Pep thinks though, he rests not just because he thinks the player might be knackered. He rests players to try different things, different formations. This is what makes him a level above others. For all I know, he tried a new defensive setup today just to see whether he could use that in the future.
His last year at Bayern saw him putting out different lineup for every single league game. Which is both bizzare and fascinating.

He was 21 though. Twenty-One.
He'll be a world beater. Wait til he doesn't switch off, or make a mistake, or rile you up in any way. By then he'll be captain of England and City and it'll be too late.

He didn't get any abuse till he tried to leave... so talking as if the fans drove him out is a bit wide of the mark.

He wanted to go and lots of fans didn't want to lick his backside in the meantime till he got his wish.

True. I think John "Pep taught me to clear" Stones might be glad we didn't sell him to Chelsea, given their mess of a season last year. Man City are way ahead of Chelsea now as well.
