John Stones

Didn't think he was too bad myself.

Mori shouldn't have been so handsy for the first penalty. Gave the ref the decision to make.

Howard shouldn't have given Vardy the opportunity to dive over his legs.

And the third... Firstly we shouldn't have taken the throw in quickly as Stones was off the pitch having been pushed into the barrier section... We subsequently lost possession... Coleman trying to clear.. gets handballed clearly and bounces luckily into their path where Stones would usually be.

But atleast stones' highlight reel will look good

For all Stones little cheeky nutmegs and relative comfort on the ball, he is far off being a top class defender in the class of Terry in his prime - and we need that now. Tony Adams was skipper of the Arse at 21 for all his flaws off the pitch, Stones is now where near the defender he was ...yet.
Will he get the coaching at Everton?

End of the day, Everton's ability to perform at the cutting edge this season will largely dictate the future club commitments of players like Stones, Lukaku, Deulofeu. Despite my many facetious comments of late to the contrary, I am exceedingly disappointed in Everton's heretofore failure to articulate such performance. In short, this team is failing to deliver, vis-a-vis its talent, with results on the pitch. If such is not reversed quickly, a once in a generation golden, golden, opportunity will escape us....Everton that.

Christ it's like that episode in Friends where Joey discovers the thesaurus.

We play with 2 defensive midfielders every game and still leak goals for fun.
Stones is missing jags but as a team we are weak defending

Honestly if we're serious about moving forward with Stones, then his future lies in the defensive mid role with a more natural CH behind him. Palace and Leicester turned up with Delaney,Dann, Morgan and the other bloke - who coped with our 'expansive' attack in both games without having to string two passes together

Stones will be a great centre half but not with martinez as manager.
He needs a manager that understands how to defend
