John Textor

Not a time waster but he is a serious loose cannon who WILL cause us problems at some point if he gets control Dave. He has accused refs of being corrupt (which has backfired on him and his team) and is now accusing PSG of allsorts and they want him to apologise or they will take the matter further. He might have money but he is a troublemaker.
If he has money and is a troublemaker he should join the forum
He will fit right in

When he already owns shares in another club that precludes him buying a new club?

Is that really the norm?
Why is it any different to buying a business which is subject to regulatory approval? Exclusivity is granted, all of the DD is done, the contract is signed subject to regulatory clearance and then you wait to see if that comes through and if any conditions are attached. It might not be a good idea from Moshiri's point of view but that doesn't mean it can't happen. It's not against the leagues rules.

We've seen multiple takeovers of Everton fail, and this one could very well fail. He'd be daft to get rid of stake in Palace before he knew a deal with us could actually happen.
It's hardly rocket science is it mate and it actually exactly like buying/selling a house in a chain which was contemptuously dismissed as an example. People very rarely agree to sell their own house unless they have an agreement to buy another.

It is when that shareholder has to sell those shares FIRST before being able to acquire the new company shares

Anyone saying this is normal is talking nonsense. It isn't.
Just because something is unprecedented doesn't mean it can't happen. It was unprecedent for a state to own a football club at one point.

No and yes.

The very simple fact is that Textor cannot buy one single share in Everton until he has sold his entire stake in Crystal Palace… which he has been unsuccessfully trying to sell for at least two years.
I thought the threshold was 30%. And couldn't he potentially get around the arrangement by putting them in a blind trust?

No one has a clue what’s going on behind the scenes.

For all we know Textor has buyers lined up for his palace shares. Just because you haven’t heard on a forum ffs.

He can be granted exclusivity by moshiri anytime moshiri wants. It’s a period for him to examine evertons books before deciding to proceed or not. He only needs to sell his palace shares before buying evertons, this is with the Prem rules.

Rumours are that's in place, but it is from ENN :(
