John Textor

Goodness knows, although for all my skepticism related to all things Everton I do get the vibe Textor is coming across as genuine in his desire to own the club. It’s just not a very easy deal for him to do.

As others have said, TFG have retained an interest via their loan and maybe now is the time they have to make their decision on whether to come back in or the club will go to Text man?
Textor managed to get a 3rd party serious investment group to release a statement saying how excited to be part of the Everton investment. Their wording sounded like a done deal, which is bizarre. You can’t always just throw out random comments in the US market. He is definitely serious, borderline desperate. Should have got all his ducks in a row at Palace before though.

If TFG are genuinely back with their same offer, you’d have to assume Mosh goes with them. He’s already chosen them over Textor once. We don’t know if that’s because of their respective offers, or the risk that Textor takes ages to sort his Palace situation out. They have already done all the due diligence. Could presumably get the owners test ball rolling today if they needed to.

God knows who would turn out to be the better owners though. It’s all guesswork.

My, admittedly unfounded, sense is that Textor might be the more likely to invest heavily in the playing squad in the short term whereas TFG would be more about slow and steady progress on and off the field.

TFG would be by far and away the best owner mate. Roma was in financial meltdown. When they bought them, last year Roma actually made a profit.

Also both are very passionate about their businesses, just for me it's clear that Friedkin seems to let his head rule his heart, Textor seems very much the opposition. The club needs a calm head making decisions not a guy going on emotional choices.

Yeah I think this is fair. Textor I think would be more immediately ambitious / impatient / open to risk-taking which we know can just turn into more of Moshiri’s Everton but then it can also turn into Aston Villa.

Friedkin I think would be more likely to want to consolidate and be happy to be churning out comfortable mid-table finishes as long as the numbers were good…which sounds like relative bliss right now but wouldn’t be bliss forever.

Voting with our heads most of us would probably say the sensible TFG approach is what’s needed….but then a small part of me thinks that with the new stadium, changes to PSR that could benefit, and the opportunity of a massive clear out of bigger earners next summer, maybe that’s the time for a more ambitious push. After all it’s supposed to be fun.

Don't be so sure about that though mate, after buying Roma, Friedkin went out and got Mourinho as manager and financially backed him heavily. 130+ million, 110m net spend.

It ked to them winning their first trophy in 14 years as well.

Yeah, fair enough mate, don’t get me wrong gun to my head it’s Friedkin every time, it’s more an element of curiosity about how things would go under Textor.

Mate after Mosh and Bill I just want a smart ambitious owner who actually builds a sustainable model to progress the club.

Don't think I could take another roller coaster ride

His interview/offensive, where he panders to supporters, makes a lot more sense now.
