John Textor

I think the worry is that Moshiri selling is just smoke and mirrors. He’s trying to get potential buyers to buy in with investment, drag out the whole affair (the extended exclusivity period with 777 would support this) to basically tread water until BMD is open. Then we generate more income and he can start to reap the benefits of the stadium. It’s actually a daft time for him to sell from his perspective - the cash cow is almost in reach, he just needs the funds to get by until then. Nightmare scenario but not beyond the realms of possibility

it’s just risky mate if he is

and how can we survive ?

Well I’ll not saying this what I think is actually happening - but it's a concern that it could be. Moshiri is bonkers and narcissistic enough, plus I don’t think he genuinely cares about the club, he cares about his money, like most owners. Even the owners who are actually knowledgeable about football I don’t believe that comes from passion f out the game but from having a vested interest in knowing enough to make shrewd business decisions. If I use the analogy of diamonds, fans would be like geologists, scientists and jewellers customers - interested in the diamonds themselves, hire they are formed, what properties they have, the aesthetics, what emotional attachment they have to them etc. Owners are like the jewellers. Some are very knowledgeable about them, but only because they then can use that knowledge to make themselves richer. Totally different mindset, and for us as fans to think owners are gonna be attached to clubs in the same way and for the same reasons as us is wishful thinking. Kensington painted himself as a true fan and most of us see him for what he really was.

Yeah
Because they will make money .
That’s how loans work.
The interest due is the only interest they have in our club.
It is also what Moshiri has done throughout this game of ‘selling’ the club , secured loans off the failed purchasers. Considering he was only seeking investment originally I think he is doing quite well in running Everton on other people’s money . Respect .
It’s possibly also why the Club was so rattled by Textor to issue a statement distancing themselves from the imminence of any deal (something that was distinctly lacking throughout the 777 fiasco.)
Textor actually wants to buy the club and not be fobbed off with the opportunity to make money via investing.
Textor has them rattled.
Friedkin’s have just become complicit in Moshiri’s game.
I’m sure they have better opportunities with that 200 million than to loan it to a cash strapped football club.

Textor scares me with his comments about not liking new stadiums and preferring goodison. Why buy a club about to move into a grand stadium
Would definitely prefer Friedkin. Feels like it’s going to be a rollercoaster with Textor. Don’t doubt that he will spend money though (even if it isn’t his) which is better that the situation we find ourselves in now and much needed given how few players we have under contract next season

I think you misunderstood his comment.

He was trying to say he wanted Everton for their history for the club that they are not because they are moving into a shiny new stadium.

In the same interview he acknowledged the economic possibilities that the new stadium brings.

He's trying to make himself sound like an "old school" club owner that understands the traditions of the game

People need to understand that Textor is nothing but a salesman

That's what his IPO is all about. Packaging it up and selling a product

Whether he's a "snake oil salesman" or a "salesman", I'll let others decide

He is NOT a billionaire however. He's worth in the region of US$800 million. But not a billionaire in his own right.

Edit. Currency corrected to US Dollars $

Because the definition of a billionaire is the American definition of the word ‘billion’ coupled with the individual’s worth in British Sterling.

Makes sense. Especially for an American citizen.

Thanks for putting in bold so we all know.
