Jon Platt Term Time Holidays

You clearly have no idea how much work you have to do being a teacher. It's not like we even get paid a lot as well.

Public perception mate, you can't get away from it.

Unless someone has a mate who is a teacher, they'll never truly appreciate what goes on behind the scenes. The constant meddling and redefining of the education system by successive political parties have just added layer after layer of crap. Hence why young teachers are leaving in droves and teaching posts remain unfilled across the country.

Also do not moan about holidays being priced higher for you lot when you have more days off than father friggin Christmas.

I assume these are unpaid holidays?

It's almost like they were forced into the career and couldn't have done anything else at all, then they moan at getting almost 3 months a year off because they stay late a few nights a week.

Yeah? Would they be able to work as hard as our brave teachers, enslaved into their profession? I don't think so!

It's coal miners I feel sorry for, these teachers moaning about holidays! Those lads were lucky to get oxygen breaks!

I can only assume your wife ran off with a teacher. Sorry about that, mate.

Bottom line: if a parent wants to take their child out of education then it's up to the parent I reckon.

It's this, really. And the reason mozza is moaning is because unfortunately their industry has now become so results driven, rather than actually educating children that he will be worrying for his figures because a couple of kids in his class had a boss time in Benidorm rather than listening to whatever bollocks the Govt have decided the kids should be taught this week.

No one doubts that teachers well the vast majority have a thankless task, plenty stay behind to take after school activities on board, but if a family want to take a holiday in term time thats their choice, its no reason to fine them,if a school suspends a pupil that pupil is missing out on education ahould the school then get fined for that?

That's the crux mate - results driven, programming kids, rather than teaching them.

You're right, it's a joke to be honest. For me though, I just want the kids to do the best the possibly can as I love the job I do. Wouldn't be doing it otherwise as it's not even paid that well.
