So it's not the education law's fault, but it's defo the fault of the parent of the travel company?

Big respect for teachers here mate but come on, you're putting your concerns (hitting targets) above the needs of the parents, children and anyone reliant on tourism for their income.

They aren't taking random kids out, they are best placed to decide on what is best for their children. Whether that's right or wrong in mine or your opinion is irrelevant. They are their kids.

They have the right to do what they like. I meant it doesn't make it right for companies to charge more over the summer holidays when this will happen.

The hotels know when the term times are, they charge more to whichever vendor sells that room, so the hotels are profitable which is a tad more difficult to do during non peak times.

Kind of thought that, with Academies, massive salaries for head teachers, contracts, constant rigid stats driven teaching etc.

It's slipping under the radar though with all the focus being on the NHS etc ?

Like I said my targets have nothing to do with it. I just want each kid to do the best they possibly can do and I will do my best for them to achieve it.

Then prepare them for their holidays if it's during term time with homework and have a follow up with them when they come back mate.

Children benefit greatly from travel and seeing different cultures.

In which case, kids having time off isn't your fault and won't impact on you doing your best for them.
