Jon Platt Term Time Holidays

So you've pushed the blame onto the tour companies now.

Super stuff. Do you teach the premise of self responsibility to your students mate?

The hotels know when the term times are, they charge more to whichever vendor sells that room, so the hotels are profitable which is a tad more difficult to do during non peak times.

At the end of the day mate with this ruling more and more parents will actively take children out of school, which I don't agree with unless in exceptional circumstances. I understand how it all works mate but how can you get round it. Probably not is the answer.

Teachers can afford but monetarily and time wise to have package vacations but they don't want the children to do so and inconvenience them is the message I'm getting here.

But anyway, let's fine Thomas Cook and put them out of business and everyone will sleep easier.

I am blaming both parents for taking children out of school as I don't think it's personally right but then I can see why parents think about doing it with the ridiculous prices in the summer. Pretty sure I said this in my first post.

The law is the problem. Not the teachers, not the parents, not the students, not the travel industry.

It's a silly law mate that needs to be repealed. So what happened with Jon Platt is a positive thing.

Maybe schools should be the ones to take a more common sense approach to it rather than lobbing fines and warnings at parents and demanding that everyone but them do something to combat the issue

Can we not have another needless attack on the tories

It's a serious question on a serious subject mate.

It's like the Tories are trying to push all the working class out of the country on all exclusives to Benidorm and Loret de Mar at the same time. This makes me very suspicious of what they're up to.

What can schools do though I guess. It's a tough one to be honest. Night anyway lads.
