Why mate? Aren't they allowed to make profit? As I said above its more the hotels than holiday companies who already have to subsidise an endemic of compensation culture.

The British have some of the cheapest flight and holiday deals in the whole of Europe.

Lol, like the way you threw that one in - " endemic of compensation culture ! "

No one doubts that teachers well the vast majority have a thankless task, plenty stay behind to take after school activities on board, but if a family want to take a holiday in term time thats their choice, its no reason to fine them,if a school suspends a pupil that pupil is missing out on education ahould the school then get fined for that?

Valid points. My issue is that a lot of the families who take their kids away during term time would be looking to blame the teachers if said kids started failing exams.

You're right, it's a joke to be honest. For me though, I just want the kids to do the best the possibly can as I love the job I do. Wouldn't be doing it otherwise as it's not even paid that well.
You've mentioned remuneration several times now. Clearly you're an educated fella, if it's the money that bothers you do something else. You'll never get rich teaching.

I don't dispute the fact you care, and you probably want to make a difference to the kids but the reality is these days you're fighting a losing battle.

Anyway, chin up it must be nearly half term

Money doesn't bother me at all, love my job and wouldn't change it. Rather be in a job I enjoy than one I absolutely hated that paid more.

Not that easy when you're thousands in debt after years of training though is it?

Could you just drop your current job and do something else which pays more in an instant?

Ueah they do but at the same time if said kids arent reaching certain goals by a certain point then tough on them as far as an education is concerned its was too target driven and has no way of catering for the individual

Sorry but everyone who's been through uni (from a working class background) is thousands in debt after qualifying. You only pay it back when you're earning above X amount.

If I dropped my current job and went on the deltas I'd make more money probably mate, so it isn't a real comparison. I've got no qualifications.

Doesn't make it right though does it when then parents will take children out of education.
Their children.

They aren't taking random kids out, they are best placed to decide on what is best for their children. Whether that's right or wrong in mine or your opinion is irrelevant. They are their kids.
