Just going back to Welton's post and it struck me that according to him a lot of young people watch the Ross show. Add to that Welton likes Top Gear. Come on you like programmes that are presented by childlike morons and that goes for TG as well.
What is the world coming to when these moronic presenters hold so much sway especially with the young folk according to Welton. I mean they like being led by a bunch of middle aged twerps.
Get a breath of air will you.
Because they are funny, and do a good job of entertaining unlike most other so called entertainers currently on the BBC.
There's so much other stuff for students doing rather than watching TV, so it takes something pretty good to get us all huddled round watching something, and so far TG and Rossy have been the only BBC shows to do this.
As for TG, yes Clarkson can be a bit....outspoken, to say the least. But imo they are three genuine blokes having a laugh, and delivering a quality programme. To call them morons is harsh, they are all intelligent, just enjoy the odd bit of larking around. They're not role models to me in any way, but I love the programme because it entertains me more than any other. Don't really see a problem but there we go!

Alex Shane challenges Russell Brand!
Thursday, 30 October 2008 13:22
'The Showstealer' Alex Shane has challenged disgraced comedian Russell Brand to a wrestling match in an article in today's Daily Star.
The former two-time British Heavyweight Champion wants five minutes in the ring with Brand, who was forced to resign from the BBC following offensive remarks made on his Radio 2 show.
This is because Georgina Baillie, the grand-daughter of Fawlty Towers comic Andrew Sachs who is at the centre of the Russell Brand-Jonathan Ross controversy, is Alex's ex-girlfriend.
19-stone Shane told The Star (the article is on Page 5 and on The Daily Mail website) that he is furious with Brand for "dirtying" the name of his ex - with whom he remains friends - during messages left on Mr Sachs' answering machine which were broadcast on Brand's radio show.
The broadcast received over 30,000 complaints to OFCOM and the resulting furore has even caused the intervention of the Prime Minister.
"I think Brand is used to getting away with these things," said Alex.
"There is something about Russell Brand that makes most people want to smack him in the mouth. He needs to be taught some humility.
"(Georgina) is a really nice person. This would have upset her a great deal."
Alex later said in an interview on Dropkick Radio that should Brand accept his challenge, all the money generated could go to charity which would go some way towards rehabilitating the comedian's soiled reputation.
