Jonathen Ross To Be Sacked ?

It was interesting what they were saying on Newsnight last night about alienating younger viewers. Friday Night with Jonathan Ross is a very popular programme with people my age. Personally speaking it is one of the few BBC programmes, along with MOTD and Top Gear, that I watch on a regular basis. If it was to be axed then it'd be a great shame imo.

Yes what they did was wrong blah blah blah, but the fact of the matter is that only 2 people complained on the day of broadcast. It's been blown out of all proportion by Daily Mail readers who probably didn't even listen to the show. Ridiculous.

I think when people heard about it they were rightly dismayed at the crassness of these men, particularly Ross. I personally can't stand the man and find his humour very childish and obnoxious. But it could be a generational thing, like you point out. When I was a teenager, for instance, I loved the Young Ones. Now I can't stand it. Only thing is, Ross is a man in his forties, so I find it odd that he still uses young person's humour to get a laugh. Brand, on the other hand, is still of that generation, so I'm less inclined to have a problem with him.

I wouldn't blame the Daily Mail either. I've not read that publication for twenty years preferring the liberal broadsheets like the The Guardian or Independent. I'm pretty sure that the Guardian itself also had a few choice words to say on the matter.

We like the programme in our house as well, we must be in the same age group (over 50's)

Sadly this is the way things go now. A couple of complaints soon escalate into the sort of media witch hunt we are now witnessing. However what these two did to an old man who has done nothing to them, and who does not even want to prosecute them, is enough to justify kicking them off the BBC even is this is just temporary.

As I said we watch and enjoy the show in our house, but we can do without it for a while.

When these two idiots learns to act with some dignity in public he will be welcome back. If they need a suitable role model they may look to Andrew Sachs.

The Sun and its kin have bred an army of would be vigilante super community heroes.

Pity theyre knuckle dragging twin brain celled bellends.

Hmm, I wonder if the Sun and Mail have not merely given a public voice to a bunch of neanderthals that have existed throughout history.
