Been a bit of a baptism of fire this season.
The poor organisation and lack of support from midfield defence and Walcott has more often than not left him exposed.
But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...and he's starting to come out on top.
He's been one of the real positives so far this season. And don't get why everyone's not getting in behind him.
The only question is whether, once he has a RW and LCM who are good on the ball in tight spaces and good in defence - Will he be able to take it to the next level?
Along with Pickford's signing, there's actually been some real traction gained.

Why is that a given? Personally don't think it'll happen.
Didn't say it was a given mate. You need to read my post again. And you could well be right about it not happening.

But IMO, and I bow to your vastly superior football knowledge in saying this, the odds on Seamus regaining his pre injury form this season, are a lot higher than the chances of JJ reaching those same levels of quality during the same timespan. I'm not saying that JJ will never reach those levels, but he will have to improve enormously to do so and he certainly won't do it this season.

In other words, for this season, Seamus getting back to form gives us more of an upside than continuing with JJ in the role. Which is why I'm surprised that Zat said he wants JJ to win the battle for RB this season. I'd much rather Seamus got his mojo back. Wouldn't you?

Shades of Gary Stevens?

To think 10 years ago we had Hibbert and the Danish lad as our RB's. If JJK was about then I think he'd most likely be 1st choice. I think we're in a better position now with our full backs than we have been in a long time.
It’s a little unfair to compare young Gurnalot Kenny with club legend Tony Hibbert. Hibbo was a complete fullback, pacy and unyielding. And the worldie goals he scored when seemingly nothing was on...legendary.
If Gurnalot becomes half the player Hibbo was, then we have a diamond on our hands.

You'd be mad to replace Kenny atm.
When he shows signs of fatigue, yes but until then Seamus should have to force his way in - the best thing for both their development.

Wouldn't you rather Coleman got his moho back? .JJ not quite ready IMO. Coleman back to his best is surely the better option. He deserves the right to try and find his form every bit as much as promising young players deserve the right to show what they can do.

Seems to me that Coleman has been a 6/10 player for a while now....If Kenny can perform at 6-7/10 this season then he should keep his place...

I think that if Kenny can do that then he will become a solid player for us. This season we aren't competing in the league and id like to see how players can step up and perform over and above what they've previously shown...so would hope Kenny can do that for us, then climb up to a tasty 7/10 next season.

hibbert was definitely a scorer of a great goal rather than a great goal scorer.
