State of people writing Kenny off. The team in general are absolute dire and players who were playing well are been dragged down with them. Don't even think a fully fit Coleman would look half decent at the moment.

He was poor against spurs after been playing well. Hes a young lad and will learn from it similar to how far Holgate has come this year. Not sure why any young player would want to stick around at our club with fans like this.

Not if you watched the tournament he wasn't. Only game he really played well in was the semi-final when he scored twice. He was given that award only because he finished top scorer for the team that won it with 4 goals, including a penalty when the game was already won.

If we wasn't the best player in the tournament then he was pretty close, tournaments only occasionally have a player that everybody simultaneously can point to and say he was the best. Messi won the Golden Ball at the 2014 world cup, did he really deserve it...probably not but there was no real candidate everyone could point to and unanimously agree on. The point was that Solanke did win the Golden Ball, and has been an absolute drollop of turd for the RS this season. Meaning just because somebody does well for an age group team it doesn't always translate over to senior football, at least not right away.

Totally agree with that but Solanke was, at least to me, nowhere near the best player in that tournament and not even close to England's best. In fact I'd say he was even poor in the group games, or at least, as Walter used to say, 'disappointing'. Haven't seen enough of him playing for them so I wouldn't know if he's 'an absolute dollop of turd' or not, but I hope he is, at least for as long as he wears a red shirt.

At least he has a good excuse which is he's young and learning the ropes in his first season as a first teamer.

What excuse does Martina have, the international who already has a year of playing with Southampton behind him?

Kenny and Cook played better in most games and lookman was on fire in one or two

You're backing the wrong horse here Zat.

The boy is an absolute liability.

A fit seamus would've saved us about ten goals this season.

Honestly, the games ive seen him play for England u21s hes always looked one of the best on the pitch...if that was the full side he'd be world class the way hes looked.

For us, he's come in and under Unsworth got his first few games and now I think hes being asked to play with 1 of 2 donkeys in front of him and is one of our most active players as the opposition know he has no help from right midfield...

Even Maldini would struggle 2 v 1 every game with nothing ahead of him.

Honestly think that Holgate received similar treatment last season and now he looks our best defender.

Coleman isn't great defensively and if asked to sit back then who knows how he would be with bolasie in front.

to be fair, I'd say martina has a valid excuse aswell

his excuse is that he isn't actually a footballer but just gets picked every week for sh1ts & giggles, because there just isn't any other reasoning behind him

Kenny was at a high level in comparison to his peers every match.
Cook looked like a leader in the centre
Lookman looked dangerous every match but was double marked a lot
Dowell was on/off
DCL looked threatening without the final product mostly

Solanke was a lamppost...I was amazed that he won it.

For me it was between Kenny and Watfords south American kid with the dyed hair.

Can't believe I'm reading some of the comments on this and other young players threads. Or the number of likes being given to them.

Why do so many of our fans write off our young players if they aren't premier starting quality by the age of 21.?

Players like Kenny, DCL, Davies et al are not ready to be starting the number of games they are being asked to. They are having to do so because of negligence and poor decision making by our board and management, and are playing because they are the best we have available at the moment. They are also, in my opinion, showing up the senior players whose form and attitude, on the whole, has been little short of disgraceful.

Every single Evertonian should be praising these kids for the way in which they've stepped up to the plate, rather than dissing them off on an internet forum as not being good enough.
