Seamus is a perfect example of why you would persist with him. It won't work every time but you have to play him to find out if he can cope or what he needs to work on to hold a spot. I hope it all works out for him in the end, seems a top kid.
I agree. We suffered Neville and Hibbert for a lot longer than was necessary due to Moyes' reluctance to commit to developing Coleman. It was clear from his first appearance against Spurs that there was talent to work with, but it was easier to just use him as a winger.

Kenny looks to have similar qualities.

I'm still amazed at the low ratings of his performance he's getting on here. From what I saw the only error he made (a few errant long forward passes apart) was not to try and get close to Sanchez for Ozil's goal. Then again I guess he wouldn't have been expecting his CBs to give a free header to a player who never heads a ball never mind score with his head. After all, Baines always lets his winger make his cross.

The lad IS a player, make no mistake. Today for me he was not particularly good but as I say I didn't see him do a lot wrong of any significance.

Some are going over the top. If the manager would have done the right thing from the start of the season, it's likely that this would have been his poorest game out of the 6 or 7 he should have played where we'd all have thought he'd done well so far.

Koeman is a joke.

He has dithered all season and gone out of his way to prevent Lookman, Kenny and Davies from starting games who are 3 of the most talented young players we have at the club. Yet he has put his faith in 2 of the weakest youngsters out of the lot of them. Holgate has shown time and time again that he's got potential but is not fully ready with various mistakes leading to goals, and Calvert Lewin has a scoring record of 1 in 20.

All of them need time to settle in, but with the Coleman situation, Kenny was the right option at the start of the season, and if he was poor then Martina would have been justified to come in. Koeman never even gave him a fair chance and throws him in against Alexis Sanchez having barely played and now he's getting written off by some.

Some game to come into, spent most of the first half getting the run around my Sanchez or Kolasnic. Unpopular opinion here but i just don't think he is ready or good enough, should've gone out on loan.

Surprised he’s getting negative comments - the whole back line are rubbish and he looks no more out of his depth/nervous than Keane.

Liked some of the overlapping runs in anticipation of receiving the ball back...
In the Everton Bulgaria fanclub/FB group people are literally in bits because DCL is turbogash and he gets dogs abuse every time he's on the pitch, so...

Evertonians are a weird bunch.

See I don’t think he is turbogash. There’s a player in there needing effective coaching and a decent setup around him.

Like a lot of our lads.
