You have two possibly excellent rigth backs and no left backs, makes sense to try get them both on the pitch, Lahm never did bad exactly playing the opposite side either - and if there is one player we have with the self confidence to not be phased by swapping like that it'd be coleman.

Now imagine Kenny developing how he has and getting forward - with Seamus driving into the box the opposite side, instantly transforms the entire side - and pretty sure that Sigurdsson on that side would absolutely love threading the balls through to him

Hes definitely been better in the last couple of matches, after struggling defensively early on. But the real test will be can he put together a good game when under pressure by a good team? That will tell if he has turned a corner.

Been steadily improving after a baptism of fire with our defence. Thank god Unsworth was in charge to give him the opportunity and support to develop, something that wouldn't have happened under Koeman. His range of passing and choice of ball was absolutely first class today. Made up how well the lad is doing but no surprise based on his performances for the U18 and U23 teams.

I think that he has a great temperament, and plays as though he has been in the first team for a few seasons. I love the way he always looks to pass forward and i thought he has shown a great partnership with Lennon ahead of him and holgate to his left over the past two games.

On another note - is baines the only left footer we have in the squad this season? (Funes Mori as well who won’t play this season) terrible balance to not having any other left footers in the squad

Deffo need more left footed players... plus left footed players always seem to have a more powerful strike than right footers for some reason
