Jonny Evans. Strongly linked by proper newspapers. Hmm.

Assuming he comes for, lets say, 6m upfront, then is he ?

"Jonny's one of the best in our defence at coming out with the ball. He's a terrific user of the ball and he's quick. I've been pleased with him."

the good thing for me is I don't see Evans as a back up CH, i can see him challenging Stones and Jags for the position

I don't either.

I mean, why would he go from United's bench to Everton's bench? What's the point.
He's a useful addition, and will hopefully let Stones and Jagielka know their places aren't cement.

Lets see...

Evans or Alcaraz/Distin?

Yes. He contributed a lot to a team which won the league 3 times. With him in it. A lot of the time.
He was back up at best in the 3 championship years ,United obviously were a top team but the fact was he was never good enough to be first choice(after 7 years) add that too his injury record I think its a totally uninspiring waste of 6-8 million. What worries me is that he has not come here to sit on the bench so I hope this isnt the first salvo in the sale of Stones.
