Jonny Evans. Strongly linked by proper newspapers. Hmm.

Assuming he comes for, lets say, 6m upfront, then is he ?

Agree with most that he is over priced, but:

Better than Alcaraz & Distin, at least as good as Dann & Ogbonna (cheaper as well) and proven in the premier league unlike van Dijk.

Price is steep and past injuries are a worry, but would be fairly pleased if he signed :)

Not sure on Evans as never really watched him properly to judge over a series of games.

I do however think that he will be an improvement on the Left-Foot-Only-Distin and the Snail-Pace-Alcaraz and provide cover and hopefully some competition if performances drop from either Jags or Stones. I mean the guy played quite often in a team challenging at top end of the league so he must be fairly solid.

Good signing in theory, just hope it's less than 8m if true, we definitely need a CB this summer before the season starts having lost 2.

I don't either.

I mean, why would he go from United's bench to Everton's bench? What's the point.
He's a useful addition, and will hopefully let Stones and Jagielka know their places aren't cement.

Lets see...

Evans or Alcaraz/Distin?
This. He is not world class or anything, but gives us much needed depth at the very least in the case of injuries, fatigue, and/or suspensions.

Evans at £7m is great business in the current market.

Needs to play every week to see the best of him though

How is it though. Even is he plays each week, why would Everton pay that kind of money to have him here for the 15/16. He becomes a freebie in 12 months time. It would basically be like a 7/8m loan.

If we sign Evans for 8m, any good feeling Martinez has back for Deulofeu signing will go straight down the toilet. That can't be a realistic value? I refuse to believe it. 3-4mil max. Yes he's experienced, but he's also injury prone, a year on his contract and was left out for McNair last season. Zero chance at 8 mil. 3-4M? Fine. Still an uninspiring signing, but a back up CB always was always gonna be.

Amazing really, it really is.

Evans has 12 months left and people expect to pay 4 million for him. Mirallas has 12 months and the same people expect clubs to pay us 15 million for him.

You could not make it up.

Tom Cleverley :
Disaster, we can't be serious.
Waste of a free transfer.
Maybe he may not be absolutely awful.
Actually looks to be a very decent player
Absolute steal.

Johnny Evans.
Injury prone ,too expensive, not good enough.

Apart from we have the option for another 12 with Mirallas.

Spoke to a united fan who's opinion id value, said Evans was better than Smalling and Jones. has played in plenty of big games so I'd welcome him. 7/8m seems a bit crazy considering only a year left.

But Bill is loaded so who cares lol
