Evans has 12 months left and people expect to pay 4 million for him. Mirallas has 12 months and the same people expect clubs to pay us 15 million for him.

You could not make it up.

While I agree with your sentiment, there's a difference between signing a club's 57th choice CB and a winger/attacker with a 1 in 3 ratio who's one of our best players.

1. I doubt the fee will be £8 million.

2. Would people feel better if we paid £8 million for Deulofeu and £4 million for Evans? It's the same total in the end.

3. If we go ahead with this deal, we won't know the impact until a deal is reached for a creative midfielder. We still might end up with a good one.
