I think he's a pretty good player and would be an ideal player to add depth to the squad. However, £8M is ridiculous for a bench-warmer defender at Everton.

There's a lot of talk about value for Evans, I agree £8 mil is quite steep but it's probably about right in this market. Centre backs in particular are at a premium at the moment, maybe it's less fashionable or something? Even £50 million only buys you a David luiz, and looking around even those with money to spend can't seem to find two world class centre backs. I think he's solid, much more so than distinct or alcaraz last season., and is the right age to provide serious competition for jags and stones.

Me too, but even so, it's not realistic to expect Jags, Stones, and Coleman to play every match. It's always good to be prepared, and he's a pretty good upgrade on Distin, Alcaraz, and Hibbo.
